May 15, 2026

Dear MMR families,

Please see important information and reminders below. Have a wonderful Victoria Day Weekend.

Update to Bell Times for the 2026-2027 School Year

As schools prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we are sharing an important update regarding our daily schedule. Bell times at some Halton schools, including ours, are being adjusted by the HDSB to improve transportation efficiencies. These adjustments allow for better route sharing and cost efficiencies, ensuring that transportation resources continue to support growing communities and evolving programs. The daily schedule at MMR starting in September 2026 will be as follows:

Announcements: 8:15 - 8:20 am (5 mins) - Students Must Be in their Classroom

Period 1: 8:20 - 9:35 am (75 mins)

Transition: 9:35 - 9:40 am (5 mins)

Period 2: 9:40 - 10:55 am (75 mins)

Period 3 LUNCH: 10:55 - 12:02 (67 mins)

Transition: 12:02 -  12:07 (5 mins)

Period 4: 12:07 - 1:22 (75 mins)

Transition: 1:22 - 1:27 (5 mins)

Period 5: 1:27 - 2:42 (75 min) - Dismissal

Driving onto Board/School Property & Parking in Bus Loading Zones

Please do not park or idle your vehicle in any of the bus loading zones. This is especially important at the back of the school where students in our Community Pathways Program get on and off their buses. As well, like all schools, our parking lot is very busy at morning drop off and afternoon pick up times. We expect all drivers to navigate our parking lots slowly and responsibly to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.

Schools Closed - Monday May 18, 2026

All schools will be closed for Victoria Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday May 19, 2026.

Parent-School Council Meeting - Tuesday May 19, 2026

The last Parent-School Council Meeting for this school year is at 6 pm in the MMR Library. All are welcome.

Relay for Life & St. John’s Therapy Dogs - Wednesday May 20, 2026

St. John's Therapy Dogs will be visiting M.M. Robinson High School on May 20 during our Relay for Life event outside on the track.  Students participating/volunteering at the Relay will have the option to meet the dogs and pet them if they are interested. All dogs have been tested by St. John’s for temperament, sociability, ability to follow commands, as well as cleanliness and good grooming.

Fifteenth Week Progress Reports - Thursday May 21, 2026

Parents/students will receive a 15th week report directly from the classroom teacher for any credit course in which the student is not progressing well (i.e below 60%). As always, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to connect with the appropriate classroom teacher via email. The reports will be sent via email directly to the parent. If received, parents are asked to review the report with their student to help ensure a strong finish to the semester.

Grad Breakfast, Ceremony Preparation & Valedictorian Process - Thursday May 21, 2026

Reminder that all Grade 12 students have been invited to the Grad Breakfast on Thursday May 21st.  It begins at 8:00 am in the cafeteria and ends at approximately 9:30 am. We will start with a hot and cold buffet breakfast as students arrive to school, followed by the valedictorian speeches. The commencement committee will then run through all of the commencement details so students know what to expect on the night of the celebration. Students are expected to check in with their Period 1 teacher while in the cafeteria to have their attendance taken.

Grad Gown and Ticket Pick Up - Tuesday May 26 and Wednesday May 27, 2026

The Class of 2026 will be able to pick up their Graduation Cap & Gown, together with their total amount of tickets for the ceremony, throughout Period 3 (lunch) in the lower main foyer. If you have any questions please contact the main office.

Accessibility Accommodations at Commencement - Wednesday June 3rd, 2026
