Pool-Side of MMR  - A Reminder from the City of Burlington

A reminder that that the pool-side of the building is controlled and managed by the City of Burlington.  The CoB welcomes our students, but would like to remind our students that they must respect the property, dispose of garbage in proper bins, and avoid loitering in bathrooms/changerooms when on the pool-side of the building. City of Burlington concerns regarding students will be reported to the school administration, and/or the police as required.

Notification of Bus Delays

Every September, when students and drivers are getting accustomed to new routines, there tends to be a higher frequency of delays. We thank families for their ongoing patience and understanding during this time. We expect Bus Operators to promptly communicate any delays and provide updates so that families have the chance to make necessary adjustments to their plans. We encourage families who have not already done so, to sign up for a Parent Portal account and add their child(ren).  This will ensure they are automatically signed up to receive email notifications when delays are posted.  For detailed instructions please click here. We highly encourage anyone with a mobile device to download the free BusPlanner Delays app and sign up to receive instant notifications of route delays affecting their family. For detailed instructions please click here.

Parking in Bus Loading Zones

Please do not park or idle your vehicle in any of the bus loading zones.  This is especially important at the back of the school where students in our Community Pathways Program get on and off their buses.

HDSB Walk and Wheel Maps

The HDSB offers a handy Walk & Wheel Map that helps you plan efficient walking or cycling routes to school. Just select your school and mode of travel to estimate how long it will take. The map can help plan daily trips to the school by active transportation or even help with finding locations to park that are a five minute walk from the school.  Ready to give it a go? Visit the HDSB Walk & Wheel to School page to explore routes, tips and resources.

Help Create a Minimized Allergen School Environment

A number of students and staff in our school community have an allergy to fragrances and can experience adverse health effects. As a reminder, please refrain from wearing strong fragrance products in the building. To help further create a minimized allergen free environment, please see our School Safety Plan for Students with Prevalent Medical Conditions found on our school website.

Student Attire

Did you know the HDSB has a policy for student attire? Watch the HDSB video to know more.

Did You Know Schools Practice Fire and Emergency Drills

All schools have extensive provincially-approved emergency procedures in place to actively assess threats and respond in ways that centre student safety and well-being. These are developed in partnership with police and include established emergency response plans.  For further information, please feel free to reference the HDSB website for School Safety FAQ's.
