HDSB Kind

Kindness, Connection and Community

HDSB Kind reflects our commitment to creating welcoming, caring and connected school communities

Students share what kindness, connection and community mean to them.

“Kindness, Connection and Community are foundational to our 2024–2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan. Across our schools and workplaces, these values are reflected in the relationships we build, the care we show and the spaces we create together.

HDSB Kind brings shared focus and visibility to this commitment, highlighting the everyday moments that strengthen our schools — students lifting one another up, staff creating welcoming classrooms and families working alongside us in support of student success. When we lead with care, compassion and connection, we create school communities where everyone feels a strong sense of belonging and can reach their full potential.”

What is HDSB Kind?

HDSB Kind is a shared commitment to centring Kindness, Connection and Community in everything we do. It reflects how we learn together, support one another and build strong relationships across our schools and workplaces.

These values are present in classrooms, offices and school communities across the HDSB. By intentionally modelling and celebrating kindness, we continue building school communities where every student, staff member and family feels valued and connected.

HDSB Kind is reflected in:

  • Classrooms where students feel safe, respected and valued

  • Strong, collaborative relationships between schools and families

  • Community partnerships and local initiatives that make a positive difference

  • Student voice, leadership and opportunities to contribute meaningfully

These everyday moments shape a culture where connection grows and belonging thrives.

We Are HDSB
