SAVE THE DATE! Pantherama is on June 2 from 5-8 PM
Join your Pineland friends and family on the school’s blacktop for games, treats, BBQ dinner, inflatable obstacle courses, face painting and much more! Getting excited? Here’s what you need to know now:
Jar Walk:
This popular game is a Pantherama classic. It is a spin on musical chairs where winners get to choose a jar full of fun stuff! It’s time to start collecting your jars!
Here's how your family can participate:
-Fill a clean, clear, unbreakable jar (clear tupperware, dollar store plastics, takeout container, clamshells, applesauce jars) with a variety of cool things. You might add candy, comic books, travel games, craft supplies, gift cards or small toys. Please avoid treats with nuts, chocolate or other foods that melt because the jars will spend time in the sun.
- Students will receive one FREE Pantherama activity ticket for every jar they bring in. You don't have to bring in a jar to participate, but the more jars we get, the longer the fun will last!
- Bring in as many jars as possible anytime from now on until Pantherama.
BBQ and Food n’ Fun Tickets:
This year we will be offering BBQ dinner from the Burlington Teen Tour Band Boosters. Meal options include hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers (halal and gluten-free available). Meal tickets will go on sale next week and will close on May 26, 2026. They must be purchased in advance.
Other foods and some activities (such as face painting, jarwalk, Sno-Cones and cotton candy), will require Food ‘n Fun Tickets. These will be available for pre-purchase via School Cash Online and at the event itself. Many activities will not require a ticket. Please stay tuned for pricing details.
Stuffy Adoption:
NEW for this year - a stuffy adoption table! Do you have any gently used stuffies looking for a new home? School Council will begin collecting stuffies starting May 19th.
We look forward to seeing you all at Pantherama!
Gr. 3-5 Track and Field 2026
Our junior relay team has been practicing all week and we are looking forward to the meet at Hayden High School this Thursday (May 14). A letter will go home on Monday with instructions for spectators who wish to attend, as well as the "schedule" for the races. Please note: the schedule only gives the ORDER of the races, not specific times. Once the day gets started it goes quite quickly and it is not possible to give a specific time for any of the races.
Field trip forms went home on Wednesday and must be returned to school by Monday May 11th.
I look forward to watching our students compete and would love to see parents come and cheer us on as well!
Mme. Huinink
Gr. 6-8 Track & Field 2026
Our Sr. Track and Field meet is coming up on May 21st at Nelson HS. Team members will be bringing home athletics packages this weekend or early next week. Each participant requires a signed athletics package (permission to practice) and a signed travel form in order to attend the meet on the 21st. Please have students return these forms as soon as possible. This is greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to another great season. Go Panthers!
-Mme. Kilpatrick & Mr. Packer
It’s Tick Season!
With students playing outdoors more and our school having lots of grass areas to play on, this is a reminder to be checking your child(ren) regularly for ticks.
(Taken from Halton Public Health website) - Residents throughout the region should continue to take precautions to prevent tick bites when enjoying the outdoors. Here are some steps to protect your health:If possible, avoid known tick areas (such as wooded, brushy or tall grass areas) and stay on trails when outdoors.
-
Cover up by wearing long sleeved, light coloured shirts and pants with tightly woven fabric.
-
Tuck your shirt into your pants and your pant legs into your socks to keep ticks away from your bare skin.
-
Wear shoes that cover your entire foot, avoiding sandals or open shoes.
-
Spray clothing and exposed skin with an insect repellent containing DEET or Icaridin.
-
Check your clothing and body for any ticks after spending time outdoors, especially around the groin, armpits and hairline. Carefully remove any ticks from yourself or a family member.
-
Check your pets regularly for ticks as they could carry ticks inside your home.
The Halton Region website has further information on ticks if you have any concerns or wish to read any further information about this topic:
