International Baccalaureate (IB) Program
Georgetown District High School has been an IB World School since 2007, one of just four schools offering the International Baccalaureate program in the Halton region. The IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a globally recognized two-year program for Grades 11 and 12 that challenges students to excel academically and personally. Graduates earn both the IB Diploma and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, with recognition from universities in more than 110 countries offering advanced standing, course credits and scholarships.
An IBDP Prep program in Grades 9 and 10 builds strong academic foundations at no cost to families and every student who applies will be accepted, provided space is available.

The Dual Credit Program allows eligible students to take college or apprenticeship courses while still in secondary school, earning credits toward both their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and a postsecondary credential. Cooperative Education (Co-op)
Cooperative Education provides secondary students with valuable experiential learning to apply, refine and extend their learning from the classroom into the community. Co-op allows students to earn secondary school credits while completing a work experience placement with employers across Halton in fields that interest them.

The move from Grade 8 to Grade 9 is a major milestone that is exciting, empowering and full of possibility. Georgetown District High School welcomes incoming Grade 9 students with dedicated transition resources, events and caring staff.
Georgetown District High School's guidance team supports every student with course selection, pathway planning and post-secondary preparation. As a hub for families across Georgetown and the surrounding communities, including 11 elementary schools in its Family of Schools, Georgetown District High School builds a strong sense of belonging throughout the community.
There are five Pathways that students may choose to pursue after secondary school and they are all valued equally. They are Apprenticeship, College, Community, University and Work.
Through Pathways, students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities provided in secondary school to know themselves, identify strengths, set educational and career goals and create a plan to achieve them. Working independently, with their guidance counsellor or with support staff, Georgetown District High School students are encouraged to leverage all areas of programming, both academic and cocurricular, to plan a future that fits their individual goals and aspirations.
