● All Gender washroom being installed in the mall area
● Permit notice on front door
● Portables removed from back of school - now 3, instead of 6
● Updates coming to gym space - mats replaced, logo on gym floor, honour
pennants on wall


3. Teacher Update - Ms. Smyth
● Excellent cross country meet
● Community Pathways class go to Velodrome
● Community Pathways hosted Halloween dances
● Grade 8s go to Milton District on Wednesday
● Student-led conferences on November 27th/28th
● Student leaders begin this month
● School-wide kindness initiative
○ World Kindness Day - November 13th
○ Focus on community building

4. Financial Update
● $1700 still in reserve from last interval

5. Movie Night Planning - December 4th
● Confirming spending arrangements

○ Popcorn, juice, water, snacks, cookies, pizza, chips
○ All items are for sale on School Cash
○ Extra items are for sale the night of the event
○ $2 entry fee
○ License fee has already been paid for calendar year

1. Assistance needed with completing these slips

night

○ Capacity - 150; Max 175 (Admin double checking fire code)

○ Motion passed - Admission cost increased to $2.50
○ Day of event - volunteers needed to assist

6. PIC Update
● Jessica & Deana - Attending first event
● Will report to Council with updates and information items (e.g., speaker)
● $500 available to be put towards an event, can be up to $750 if specific proposal
submitted
● Goal is get more interest in the community for PIC events

● Funds can be pooled with another local school (e.g., EW Foster)
● Additional funds remaining - PIC - $2750; Programs - $1289.92

5. Movie Night Update
- ACF License for streaming

- Cost to maintain license (based on last year) was $565.65

- Folks were leaving because of lack of crowd control
- Need to establish expectations with families
- Discussion of reasons for why attendance and purchasing might be down
- Focus on hosting event and building community
- Establishing how to balance expectations of the event (e.g., social vs.
watching the movie)
- Possibility of having an additional movie on February 12th before deadline
of renewal

- Fundraising ideas
- Overall fundraising plan has already been submitted to
Superintendent
- Fundraising needs to have a goal and established purpose to
revise

- Consider surveying the community for fundraising interests
- Should we move forward with future movie nights or consider other
options?

6. Pro-Grant

- Movement X confirmed for April 16th
- Heather will email with more information related to the event night and
planning needs

7. Future Plans
- Considering a games night for May
- Funds for the May evening could cover the cost of subsidizing year-end
field trips
- Linda will survey other members that are not in attendance with planning
a game night for May
- Thursdays in May are open (avoid May 14)
- Keep open for the dates that work best for council
- Need to also allocate funds for Grade 8 Graduation
