Schnurricane Cross Country Classic – Volunteers and Runners
Tomorrow is the Schnurricane Cross Country Classic at Bronte Creek Provincial Park! If you took a form to help out, come find Mr. Rochus ASAP (hint: he’s in the music room right now, and in S110 for the rest of the day). If you are running tomorrow, watch your inbox for an email with details.
Cross Country Team – No Weight Room Session Today
Finally, there will be NO weight room session today at lunch for the cross country team in observance of the International Day For Truth and Reconciliation.
Homecoming Dance – The Golden Age of Hollywood
Attention students! The countdown to our Homecoming Dance has begun! This year’s theme is The Golden Age of Hollywood, so get ready to dress to impress under the spotlight. The big night happens next Thursday, October 9th. Tickets are $23 and available now on School Cash Online. Don’t forget: permission forms can be picked up and returned in the office, and you MUST bring your student ID card with you to the venue. Let’s roll out the red carpet and make this a night to remember!
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Every Child Matters
Today is the International Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The TRC asked Canada to set aside a day for reflection and awareness in honouring the survivors of residential schools. We do this by commemorating the residential school experience, witnessing and honouring the healing journey of the Survivors and their families, and by reminding ourselves that we are all treaty people on treaty lands. Never forget the enduring truth: EVERY CHILD MATTERS.

Cross Country Team – Strong Performance at Gryphon Open
Yesterday the Cross Country Team travelled to Christie Lake Conservation Area for the most challenging meet outside of OFSAA, the Gryphon Open. The Tigers took on close to 1300 other runners and showed huge amounts of grit. Ethan Deveaux was the top scorer on the day, taking home gold in the Senior Boys race.

Today is the Terry Fox Run and we’re so excited to see everyone out showing support. Remember, today is all about carrying on Terry Fox’s legacy and helping raise money for cancer research, so if you have any donations bring them to your Period 2 class! Keep those donations coming, Tigers!
Terry Fox Run, Assembly and BBQ – Event Details
We’ll kick things off with a Terry Fox assembly after Period 2, and then we will head outside for the Terry Fox Run/Walk! It’s a 5k trail for the runners and a 3k for those who want to walk! Afterwards we will head to the field for a BBQ! We have burgers, hotdogs, veggie dogs, freezes and pop for sale, in person with cash or available on School Cash Online.
Soak-a-Senior – Fundraiser for Cancer Research
If you have any money left over… please participate in Soak-a-Senior! Your chance to dump water right over a participating senior’s head! Buckets are $2 for small, $4 for medium, and $10 for MEGA JUMBO SOAKER.

Terry Fox Run – Donations, Soak-a-Senior and BBQ
Don’t forget, the Terry Fox Run is this Thursday, September 25. Keep those donations rolling in, and bring them to your Period 2 class! Let’s reach our goal of $3,000!
Also remember to bring some cash to take part in the fun on Thursday! Get ready for Soak-a-Senior, your chance to drench a senior with a bucket of water! Buckets are priced at $2 for small, $4 for medium, and $10 for MEGA JUMBO SPLASH. All proceeds go towards cancer research.
After the actual Terry Fox Run, we’ll have a BBQ, with food still available to order through School Cash Online and on the day with cash. There will also be Spikeball and Volleyball set up at the BBQ for everyone to enjoy.

Terry Fox Fundraising – Dodgeball and BBQ
Hey Tigers! This year, let’s all do our best to reach our fundraising goal of $3,000 for cancer research during the Terry Fox Run. And we’ve got some awesome events to help us get there! On Tuesday, September 23, don’t miss the Student vs. Teacher Dodgeball Game! There’s a $1 entry fee, and team sign-ups are now open at the T. Teams can have up to 10 players, and the tournament will be a round-robin elimination. Bring your energy, bring your team, and let’s raise money for a great cause. Lastly, to buy burgers, hotdogs, drinks and chips at the BBQ visit School Cash Online and purchase them there, all proceeds go to cancer research! See you there, Tigers!

Terry Fox Run – One Week Away
We are now a week away from the Terry Fox run! Before, let’s take a moment to remember who Terry was and why we run. Terry Fox was only 18 when he lost his leg to cancer, but instead of giving up, he set out on his Marathon of Hope. He ran a marathon a day to raise money for cancer research. He inspired millions, and today, we continue his dream through the Terry Fox Run. Let’s honour his courage by giving our best effort and raising funds for this important cause! You can now start donating by bringing a loonie, toonie or dollar bills to your second period class, from now until September 25th. Let’s all try our best to reach our goal by raising $3000 for cancer research.
