Hey TAB, Eco club is hosting a bake sale on December 5th!  If you donate a jacket at the front of the office and write the information on the signup sheet, you will get a 1 dollar discount.  This information is also posted around the school.  There will be many treats like brownies, cookies and more so see you soon!

Girls Hockey - Back-to-Back Wins!

Yesterday the Girls Hockey team opened their regular season with back-to-back games against Milton District and Georgetown.

The girls continued their unbeaten streak with a 7–0 domination over Milton and a 5–4 hard-fought win over Georgetown.

Holly Brimacombe led the way with 7 points on the day.

Girls Hockey - Tournament

Last thursday, the Varsity Girls Hockey team travelled to Brantford to compete in the Mustangs Invitational tournament.  The girls went 3-0 on the day, outscoring their opponents 15-3 and finishing with a dominant 6-0 victory in the orunament finals.  Great work, Tigers!

Swim Team Results – Congratulations!

The Blakelock Swim Team had an impressive showing at yesterday’s meet! Highlights include:

  • Michal, Cameron, Melisa, and Chloe won both their 4x50 Free and 4x50 Medley relays

  • The men’s 4x50 Free Relay teams placed 2nd and 7th

  • The men’s 4x50 Medley Relay teams placed 1st and 13th

  • Cameron won the Sr. 100 IM by 6.7 seconds and also won the 50 Fly

  • Sr. Boys swept 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 100 IM (Zayden, Romeo & JJ)

  • Multiple top finishes in breaststroke, freestyle, fly, and rookie events—including first-ever meets!

We’re excited for the rest of the season—way to go, Tigers!

Eco Club Photography Contest – Enter Now

Calling all upcoming and current photographers! Eco Club is hosting a photography contest. You can submit a photo of scenery, animals, or nature/freeform. There are posters around the school with QR codes that you can scan to submit your photo. The winner gets featured on TAB’s Instagram, so take a few minutes out of your day to try your luck!


Wellness Club – Trade for Treat Event Today

Did you find any yet—ghosts, bats, monsters, pumpkins, and other Halloween shapes hidden around the building? Look high and low… there are at least 75 foam shapes hidden for the Wellness Club’s annual Trade for Treat event. Find as many Halloween shapes as you can and bring them to the “T” at lunch to trade them for a treat. Just another way to join in the community fun today. Happy Hallowe’en, Tigers!

Senior Girls Basketball – Quarterfinals Victory

Congratulations to the Senior Girls Basketball team for their massive upset over Nelson yesterday in the quarter finals of the Tier 1 playoffs. Emma Kellerman and Farrah Caesar combined for 25 points in the 37–26 victory. The Tigers move on to the semi-finals on Monday to face King’s Christian Collegiate. Good luck, Tigers!

Senior Girls Basketball – Regular Season Finale

Shoutout to the Senior Girls Basketball team who ended their regular season yesterday with a hard-fought 45–44 victory over Iroquois Ridge. The Tigers were down 5 in the final minute of the game and crawled back to win on a basket by Emma Kellerman with 7 seconds to spare. Great work, Tigers!

Cross Country – GHAC Championships Results

On Tuesday, the Tigers Cross Country Team travelled to Bronte Creek Provincial Park to compete in the GHAC Championships. With numerous top 20 finishes, highlights of the day came in the form of 2 OFSAA berths from Junior Harrison Crowe and Senior Ethan Deveaux, who was also the GHAC silver medalist. In heartbreaking fashion, our Senior Boys team missed a trip to OFSAA, coming out on the wrong end of a tiebreaker. Please return your Cross Country singlet to Mr. Rochus ASAP.

A massive shoutout to the Junior Girls Basketball team for their huge comeback victory yesterday over the undefeated and first place Hayden Huskies. Players of the game Diyenka Senanayake and Rowen Stinson combined for 30 points as the Tigers came back from a 15 point deficit in the fourth quarter to win the game. Great work Tigers!

OFSAA bound! Rhys MacKay is headed to OFSAA next month competing in Boys Singles. Rhys faced tough competition, taking down Garth Webb, Abbey Park and Assumption. Rhys placed 1st in Halton and 2nd in GHAC. Your coaches and teammates couldn’t be prouder—congrats on an amazing season, Rhys!

Cross Country – Schnurricane Classic Highlights

Yesterday was the Schnurricane Classic at Bronte Creek Provincial Park. The Tigers had home-course advantage and showed it with great results. Ethan Deveaux was third in the Senior Boys race, Harrison Crowe scored a top 5 finish in the Junior Boys race, and Rianne Lee was our top female finisher, placing 14th in a competitive Junior Girls race. The story of the day was the Senior Boys taking home the team title with the best score out of 13 teams. Big thanks to all the volunteers who came out to help!

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – Every Child Matters

Today is the International Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The TRC asked Canada to set aside a day for reflection and awareness in honouring the survivors of residential schools. We do this by commemorating the residential school experience, witnessing and honouring the healing journey of the Survivors and their families, and by reminding ourselves that we are all treaty people on treaty lands. Never forget the enduring truth: EVERY CHILD MATTERS.

Cross Country Team – Strong Performance at Gryphon Open

Yesterday the Cross Country Team travelled to Christie Lake Conservation Area for the most challenging meet outside of OFSAA, the Gryphon Open. The Tigers took on close to 1300 other runners and showed huge amounts of grit. Ethan Deveaux was the top scorer on the day, taking home gold in the Senior Boys race.

We’ll kick things off with a Terry Fox assembly after Period 2, and then we will head outside for the Terry Fox Run/Walk! It’s a 5k trail for the runners and a 3k for those who want to walk! Terry Fox Run – One Week Away

We are now a week away from the Terry Fox run! Before, let’s take a moment to remember who Terry was and why we run. Terry Fox was only 18 when he lost his leg to cancer, but instead of giving up, he set out on his Marathon of Hope. He ran a marathon a day to raise money for cancer research. He inspired millions, and today, we continue his dream through the Terry Fox Run. Let’s honour his courage by giving our best effort and raising funds for this important cause! You can now start donating by bringing a loonie, toonie or dollar bills to your second period class, from now until September 25th. Let’s all try our best to reach our goal by raising $3000 for cancer research.

Volleyball – Meeting for Jr. and Sr. Teams

Attention all volleyball enthusiasts!!! Anyone who wants to try out for the senior or junior volleyball team, please come to a meeting today at lunch to meet your coaches and pick up a form. The meeting will take place in W108, the health room, right at the beginning of lunch.


Photo Day – Coming Tuesday, September 9

It’s coming! Photo day is almost here. This coming Tuesday, September 9, Edge photography will be here to take your picture. The photographer will be in the small gym and students will be called down by class throughout the day. There is no charge to have your photo taken to receive a student ID card and yearbook picture. Get your smile on!

Football – Juniors Equipment and First Practice Today

Juniors can come get equipment today at lunch and will have their FIRST PRACTICE TODAY AFTER SCHOOL. Come check it out, no strings attached.

No experience necessary, all personalities, bodies and walks of life are welcome, newcomers (especially grade 9’s) are absolutely encouraged. Most importantly, fun will be had by all.
