Principal’s Message
Welcome to Alexander’s Public School
It is our absolute privilege to welcome you to Alexander’s Public School. Since 2006, we have been a proud cornerstone of the Orchard neighbourhood, serving a vibrant community of K-8 students in both our English and French Immersion tracks.
At Alexander’s, our dedication to the growth of the whole child is anchored by a simple yet powerful vision for our students: Be Kind. Be Curious. Be Brave.
As a leadership team, Vice Principal Benita Nafekh and I are deeply committed to ensuring our school is rooted in relationships, where our staff and students connect deeply beyond the curriculum. Together with our incredible staff, we champion Be Kind—building a culture of empathy and inclusion where every "Coyote" looks out for one another, ensuring that ALX feels like a safe, welcoming second home where every identity is celebrated and everyone belongs.
We work hard to ignite a "learning by doing" spirit. We encourage our students to Be Curious by asking big questions, valuing diverse perspectives, and engaging in active, student-centered learning that prepares them to solve real-world challenges.
Through this shared work, we strive to ensure our school remains safe to soar. By providing a physically and emotionally secure environment, we empower our Coyotes to Be Brave—to take creative risks, lead with integrity, stand up for what is right, and view mistakes as essential stepping stones to success.
Our ultimate goal is to ensure our students leave ALX real-world ready. Whether you are a returning family or joining the Orchard community for the first time, Ms. Nafekh and I are honoured to partner with you as we prepare our students to transition into high school and beyond as confident, empathetic, lifelong problem-solvers.
Once a Coyote, Always a Coyote!
Warm regards,
Robyn Sherwood, Principal
