| 6/1/2026 | Welcome to June | "Good morning, students and staff. As we head into the final stretch of the school year, June brings a lot of reasons to reflect, celebrate, and focus. First, this week marks Ontario Day on June 1st. It’s a great reminder of how fortunate we are to live, learn, and grow in this province—a place built on diverse communities, incredible opportunities, and a shared future that you, as students, are going to help shape. June is also an incredibly significant month for our school community as we recognize both Pride Month and National Indigenous History Month. It is a time for us to celebrate love, identity, and inclusion, while also honoring the rich histories, cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Embracing who we are and learning from one another is what makes our community strong. But to fully enjoy everything June has to offer, we have some important work to do right here in our classrooms. We are officially entering the season of final performance tasks and exam preparation. To help you finish strong, here are three quick tips for your preparation over the next few weeks: First, start early and chunk your time. Don't try to cram everything into the night before. Studying in smaller blocks over several days gives your brain time to actually retain the material. Second, use active recall. Instead of just reading over your old notes, close the book and try to explain the concept out loud, or use flashcards to test your memory. And finally, prioritize your well-being. You cannot perform your best if you are running on empty. Protect your sleep schedule, eat well, and remember to take short, intentional breaks to clear your mind. Your teachers are here to support you, so don't hesitate to ask questions and utilize your review classes. The effort you put into your learning now will pave the way for your success at the end of the month. Let’s finish this year with pride, dedication, and momentum. Have a great day, everyone!" |
