Breakfast, Lunch and Snack Programs

Mohawk Gardens Daily Breakfast Program

Thanks to a "Power Full Kids" grant from President's Choice Children's Charity and support from Halton Food for Thought, Mohawk Gardens is able to offer a daily healthy breakfast program open to all of our students starting in September. Volunteers and Grade 6 leadership students will be preparing and serving breakfast each morning from Monday to Friday. Note: If buses in Zone 1 are cancelled, then the Breakfast Club is also cancelled.

Students enter through Door #8 (west blacktop) starting at 8:10 am until 8:20 am. Students who join Breakfast Club must remain in the breakfast serving area by the library until the bell rings at 8:30 am and then they can head to their lockers/classes.

Mohawk Gardens Grab and Go Snack Bins

Thanks to grants from Halton Food for Thought and President’s Choice Children’s Charity, the school purchases and provides some “Grab & Go” extra food items safely available for students at the school when needed.

Halton Food for Thought (HFFT) is dedicated to feeding the success of our students, one healthy, happy student tummy at a time.

In partnership with the school boards and our community, HFFT is the sole provider of Student Nutrition Programs in schools across Halton Region.

Student Nutrition Programs include nutritious meals and snacks and are available before or during school hours at no cost. These programs are a safe and reliable source of healthy food and are open to all students in a school's community from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12. Halton Food for Thought believes that through the provision of healthy food, every student has the best chance at success.

We want all children to reach their full potential and lead healthy, active lives.

To help support student success, please consider volunteering with, or donating to Halton Food for Thought. To learn more about HFFT Student Nutrition Programs, visit Halton Food for Thought.
