Varsity Girls Field Hockey Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Field Hockey team on an incredible season and a heroic performance in the quarterfinal playoff against TAB! OT dominated play for the vast majority of the match, displaying phenomenal teamwork, skill, and grit. Following a brilliant goal by Lexi K, the game remained deadlocked at the end of regulation. After an intense, scoreless overtime period, the match came down to a high-stakes penalty shootout. Melody L and Lauren W scored clutch goals under pressure, while goalkeeper Charlotte W made multiple incredible saves to keep the team in the fight until the very last shot. With the season coming to a close, we say a special goodbye and thank you to our graduating seniors: Annabelle B, Sloane F, Ishita G, Elizabeth H, Kate M, Ivanka P, Savannah S and the captains Gracie G, Ava S, and Lauren W. Thank you, seniors, for your leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship over the years. You've set a standard of excellence for the program, and we wish you all the best in your next chapter. “Hack the North” Have you heard of the programming contest “Hack the North” held by the University of Waterloo? Hack the North is Canada's biggest hackathon, where 1,000+ students of different skill levels come together from around the world to experiment and create unique software or hardware projects from scratch. The 3 day event was held this past weekend. Oakville Trafalgar’s very own Hani Z participated on a team of 4 and they won the category of Best Beginner Hack. This award was sponsored by Aramco Americas and is awarded to a group of 4 people attending their first competition The Team Name was Providence. Using ChatGPT as the foundation, the group members created multiple apps to work on Windows and Apple devices. The apps are capable of combining all of a person’s electronic devices using Codex AI chats and are routed to one "super agent" creating one intuitive system. Each device in the system has full administrative access to the features of all the devices in the system.
