Inspire Awards
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to support students in the Halton District School Board?
The Inspire Awards are all about these people. Inspiration can come from a diverse range of actions. Everyone in the HDSB community can nominate or be nominated – families, neighbours, related organizations, staff, students and school volunteers!
How Do I Nominate Someone for an Inspire Award?
Do you know someone who goes above and beyond to support students in the Halton District School Board? Each nomination will be evaluated on its own merit. Inspire Award nominations will be reviewed by Trustees each month during the school year. Those most closely reflecting the criteria in an exemplary way, will be recognized. Please review the evaluation criteria as referenced in the Inspire Awards Evaluation Guide and submit the Inspire Awards Nomination Form, including specific examples of above and beyond contributions to support students achievement and well being in the HDSB.

Who is eligible to be nominated?
Who is ineligible to be nominated?
Superintendents, the Director of Education, Associate Director and publicly elected trustees cannot be nominated for an Inspire Award.
Nominations may come from any stakeholder(s) associated with the Halton District School Board (either formally or informally), including students, staff, parents/guardians, volunteers, and other members of the school/Board community.
Note: Superintendents, the Director of Education, Associate Director or publicly elected trustees may not nominate people for an inspire award.
How often may an individual or group be nominated?
An individual or group may be nominated more than once, but will only qualify for recognition once per school year. First time nominees may receive priority.
Where will the award be presented?
The Inspire Award recipient will choose the location of the presentation. The Inspire Award can be presented during the first 15 minutes of the public session of a Board meeting, or at the school/ workplace of the recipient.
What is the deadline for nominations?
There is no deadline for the Inspire Award, as it is an ongoing program. Individuals can be nominated throughout the school year.
Preference for the Inspire Award will be to recognize individuals or groups who have not been recognized by others for a given action, activity or approach. That is, we’re looking for unsung heroes. However, at another time and for a different action, activity or approach, this person may be eligible for an Inspire Award.
