Responding to the Census Data

​​​​​In response to the Student and Staff Census, a number of steps have already been undertaken.​ The following is a brief summary of the work underway.​

Continue to examine disparities and disproportionalities in opportunities and outcomes in order to:

  • ​Identify gaps in student experiences (e.g., sense of belonging, etc.), disparities in programming and outcomes related to systemic barriers
  • Identify gaps in representation across union groups and leadership roles and staff experiences (e.g., discriminatory barriers, work climate, well-being) 

Prepare action plans that align with the Multi Year Plan

  • Support schools and service departments in examining and using their data in order to respond to areas of disparities and disproportionalities
  • Support school administrators in implementing PPM 165 (Teaching Hiring Practices) with a focus on human rights and equity competencies 

​Continue stakeholder engagement 

  • ​Engage with advisory committees and public stakeholders to inform and guide action plans
