Ecuador Trip 2026

Final Registration Opportunity Information

This past spring we launched Garth Webb Secondary School’s next service learning trip to Ecuador during March Break 2026! We’ve got over 25 students joining us already, but we’re offering one final opportunity for students to join us on this amazing adventure!

We launched the trip in the spring for grade 11 and 12 students to ensure our senior students had the opportunity to register. Now, because we have a few spots left, we’re opening the trip up to grade 10 students as well. Grade 11 and 12 students who are interested but didn’t join in the spring are also welcome to register now.

Leaders League @ GWSS

Leader’s League Launches at Garth Webb!

We’re thrilled to kick off our 8-week Leader’s League Program at Garth Webb, an inspiring initiative led by Halton Multicultural Centre - Connections that focuses on developing leadership, communication, and team-building skills in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

As part of this exciting journey, students are working collaboratively on a very special legacy project: creating Garth Webb’s very own school mascot, brought to life through a stunning 3x3 two-dimensional paper mosaic board. Once complete, this artwork will be gifted to the school and proudly displayed in the library, portraying a lasting symbol of creativity, unity, and school spirit.

We can’t wait to see the incredible results from this passionate and dedicated group of future leaders!

Take Our Kids to Work Day - Nov 5, 2025

The Halton District School Board is proud to be involved in Take Our Kids to Work Day, now coordinated through The Students Commission of Canada.  Since 1994, Take Our Kids to Work has grown from a regional program into a nation-wide project involving millions of Grade 9 students and hundreds of thousands of workplaces.  This year, based on the strong support for the 2022 event, we expect that even more students and workplaces will participate.  Please read this family message for more information on the event.

Please ensure that the Take Our Kids to Work Day Permission Form is signed and returned

to your child's period 1 teacher by the following date: Wednesday October 29th, 2025.

If your student needs help with finding a placement, please contact Mrs. Andrea Brock (brocka@hdsb.ca).

October is International Walk to School Month

IWALK is a global celebration of active transportation that takes place every October. It's a great opportunity to promote healthy habits, reduce traffic congestion, and support a cleaner environment.

We encourage all of our students and families to walk to school as often as possible throughout the month. Whether it's walking the whole way or just part of the route, every step counts!

Let’s get moving and make October a month of healthy choices and community spirit!
