Listen up Chargers! The next PHOTO day is this Tuesday - 5 days from now.  It is the Tuesday right after Thanksgiving (Oct 13th). This day is meant to capture the photo of any students or staff who DID NOT get a photo on Photo Day during the first week of school. It is NOT a RETAKE day. The photographer will be in the lower cafeteria for Period 1 and Period 2 ONLY.  If you have not had your photo taken yet, please make sure to have it taken on this day.

Today is Orange Shirt Day. This is a time to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as survivors, their families, and communities. It is also a day to learn about the history and lasting impacts of residential schools and to reflect on our shared responsibility to work toward truth and reconciliation. The orange shirt is a reminder that every child matters. Wearing orange today is one way we can show that we remember, we care, and we are committed to building a future where every person is treated with dignity and respect. As a school community, we encourage everyone to take time today to listen, learn, reflect, and consider how we can contribute to reconciliation—not only today, but throughout the year. Thank you, and have a thoughtful and respectful day.

Our chargers golf team had a fantastic day yesterday on the course. Logan Devereaux shot an 81 which earned him 3rd place in the Boys-high school division. Olivia Lee also shot an 81 which earned her 1st place in the girls - high school division. Way to go golfers!

Good morning, everyone. The hardest part of getting strong isn't lifting the weight. It's walking into the gym for the first time. We're here to make that easy.The Weightlifting Club is open to all students, no experience required. Members will learn proper lifting technique, build personalized training plans, and work out alongside experienced members. Join us for our first meeting today at lunch in the fitness room. This year is the 46th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. Schools all across Canada are joining in and we’re one of them! Our Terry Fox Run is next Thursday, and while it’s a fun way to get involved and show school spirit, it’s also about something much bigger: raising money for cancer research. Every dollar we raise helps scientists get closer to finding a cure and helps families affected by cancer. We are having our annual Terry Fox bake sale on Tuesday sept 29, so bring cash and cards for some sweet treats. Don’t forget to get your laces tied because the run is taking place on Thursday October 1, let's Charge on for Terry.

Today our Jewish friends and community recognize Yom Kippur. It  is the holiest and most solemn day of the Jewish year, known as the Day of Atonement, and in 2026 it takes place from sunset on September 20 until nightfall on September 21. This sacred occasion centers on pursuing divine pardon and restoring harmony in our relationships with others.

Welcome Chargers!!! A reminder that Photo Day will be happening tomorrow and Friday.  Your photo will be taken in the lower and upper cafeteria and you will receive your student cards in the next week or so.

The schedule will be as follows for both days: P1 Grade 9, P2 Grade 10, P4 Grade 11 and P5 Grade 12.

If your class grade falls into those time periods, check in with your teacher to find out what day your photo will be taken so you will be ready. All staff and students are to have their photos taken in the next 2 days.

If you’re interested in trying out for our Sr. Girls Basketball Team this year, there will be a mandatory meeting in room 2014 today after school. Make sure to pick up an athletic form from the Phys. Ed office if you are unable to attend the meeting so that you can bring it back signed and try out on Thursday after school in the gym! 

Attention musicians and musicians-to-be! Did you know that Garth Webb has a boat-load of bands and choirs that you can join? There are junior and senior concert bands, jazz band, rock band and two choirs. If you’re interested, come to our short information meeting this Friday at 11:15 in the music room, room ten fifty-one. 

Attention all grade 12 physics students, if you are interested in being a physics club and engineering club leader this year, there will be a brief meeting this Thursday at the start of lunch in room 3040. If you have any questions, please find Mr. Klos in 3040 or the math office. See you there!
