March 23, 2026 - The Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board have received final approval from the Ontario Ministry of Education for the 2026-2027 school year calendar.
March 23, 2026 - The Halton District School Board, in partnership with Special Olympics Ontario (SOO), will host a Sports Festival on March 25 and 26 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Milton Velodrome (2015 Pan Am Blvd, Milton) for hundreds of HDSB elementary students with special education needs.
March 3, 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) will host the 34th annual Halton Skills Competition, providing elementary and secondary students with hands-on opportunities to showcase their skills in technological and skilled trades challenges.
Feb. 26, 2026 - The Halton District School Board is pleased to announce secondary school students Melody Liu and Jay Xu as the Board’s Student Trustees for the next school year (2026-2027).
We are deeply saddened by the school shooting in northern British Columbia. Our thoughts are with the students, staff, families and community members of Tumbler Ridge, BC and all those impacted by this devastating tragedy. In honour of those affected, flags at HDSB offices and schools have been lowered.

Jan. 27, 2026 – Two Halton District School Board (HDSB) teachers are recipients of the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Teaching, Canada’s most prestigious honour in the field of history. Ian Duncan, teacher at Garth Webb Secondary School, and Heather Howell, teacher at M.M. Robinson High School, are recognized among a small number of educators nationwide and are the sole recipients from Ontario this year.

Jan. 6, 2026 - Fashion Forward is an initiative that provides Halton District School Board students an opportunity to select donated formal wear, at no cost, for their upcoming prom and graduation celebrations. Donations of clean, current-style formal wear for the Fashion Forward program are being accepted until the end of the day on Friday, Jan, 23.
