Sept. 10, 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is excited to announce a brand-new regional sports program launching in September 2027, the Academy for Athletic Performance and Excellence (APEX).

Sept. 8, 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) welcomes approximately 64,000 Kindergarten to Grade 12 students today, Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026 for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

The Halton District School Board will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony for a new Oakville elementary school (currently referred to as Oakville #5 PS) on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026 at 1 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the school site, located at 3490 Preserve Drive in Milton.

Aug. 18, 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is proud to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of 16 graduating students who have been named recipients of the 2026 Governor General’s Academic Medal.

Aug. 17, 2026 - A new secondary school is coming to Oakville in September 2027, and community creativity is welcomed to help name it! As the Halton District School Board prepares to open a new school at 4020 Sixth Line, input from students, parents/guardians and local community members will help build the foundation for Oakville’s newest secondary school.

The Halton District School Board is proud to announce that two Grade 12 students from White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville – Kaiya Ajmera and Zoe Vasilijevic – achieved rare perfect scores in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.

Sept. 24, 2025 - On Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, the Halton District School Board will host a board-wide, interactive Secondary School Open House at Craig Kielburger Secondary School in Milton (1151 Ferguson Dr, Milton).

June 18, 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is pleased to announce that Michele Moore and Raquel Walker have been selected as incoming Superintendents of Education. They will begin in their roles for the 2026-2027 school year.

June 17, 2026 – At the June 16, 2026 Board meeting, Trustees of the Halton District School Board (HDSB) approved a balanced budget for the 2026-2027 school year.

June 8, 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is now accepting applications to the Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate Program for the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 cohorts.
