Today, December 2nd, is Giving Tuesday — a global day dedicated to giving back. If you’re considering a donation, we hope you’ll support GWSS. Our Annual School Council Fundraising Campaign wraps up this week, and we’re at 28% of our $12,000 goal for 2025–26.
How your donations make a differenceSince 2018, the School Council has raised over $55,000 to strengthen school spirit, enhance learning spaces, and support student initiatives. This year, your donations have already helped fund:

Highlighting the Poppy Awards
We’re past the halfway mark of the Annual Garth Webb Secondary School Council Fundraising Campaign. Thanks to our generous school community, we’ve raised $2,885 so far — 24% of our $12,000 goal for 2025–26.
⭐ Spotlight: The Poppy Awards
Since 2015, School Council has funded the Poppy Awards, recognizing graduating students who demonstrate strong commitment to the GWSS community and the school's values and vision – “Learn Today to Lead Tomorrow”. To date we have awarded $16,000 to deserving students.
With your support we can continue a proud legacy of recognizing excellence at GWSS, and awarding four students with a $500 award each, helping offset post-secondary education costs.

GWSS Council Annual Fundraiser – Donate Today and Receive a Tax Receipt Before Year-End
Dear Garth Webb Families,
As we approach year-end, some of you may be considering charitable donations. Did you know that donations to Garth Webb Secondary School (GWSS) are eligible for a tax receipt? All donations over $20 automatically receive a tax receipt..
The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is a registered charity with the Canada Revenue Agency, and your donation can be directed specifically to GWSS to support student initiatives and programs.
If you are deciding where to make your year-end charitable donation, please consider supporting GWSS.
Suggested Donation: $40 per student (every dollar counts!)

Your support is helping fund events and networking opportunities for our student Clubs and Councils, classroom improvements, new speakers for school wide events and activities, the EV club and so much more.

We’re excited to launch the Annual Garth Webb School Council Fundraising Campaign — your chance to directly support the programs and experiences that make our school community thrive.
At GWSS, we’re proud of the incredible range of clubs, teams, and activities that enrich our students’ learning and engagement. The annual fundraising campaign helps fund initiatives that enhance academics, athletics, the arts, technology & innovation, and student well-being.
Last year, thanks to your generosity, we raised over $9,000 for general funds and specific clubs. This year, our goal is to raise $12,000 — and with your help, we can get there!

Did you know GWSS has over 60 Clubs & Councils? From STEM and business to debating, arts & culture, sports, volunteering and wellness, our students are actively engaging, learning and growing through these incredible opportunities.
Thanks to your generous donations in past years, we’ve been able to provide essential resources, such as start-up funding for the EV Club, funds for our world-class Robotics team, resources for sports clubs, and event support for student-led clubs focused on identity, community, special interests or other areas.
