Tuesday, September 8, 2026 - First Day of Classes - SPECIAL SCHEDULE

All Grade 9 students, along with all students in our Community Pathways Program (CPP), will begin their day at 8:15 a.m. with a school orientation and welcome-back activities.

Students in the CPP will be greeted by school staff at the main CPP entrance.

Grade 9 students in our mainstream program will be welcomed by our Student Link Crew Leaders as they arrive. The morning will feature a variety of activities led by our outstanding senior LINK Leaders, designed to help students build connections with their peers, become familiar with the school, and feel confident as they begin their high school journey. Our goal is to ensure every Grade 9 student knows they are not only welcome, but an important part of the Nelson family.

Lunch will take place from 10:55 to 11:55 a.m., after which students will follow a modified afternoon class schedule as outlined below:

Period 1: 11:55 - 12:28
Period 2: 12:34 - 1:07
Period 4: 1:13 - 1:46
Period 5: 1:52 - 2:30

All students in Grades 10-12 who are in the mainstream and not mentioned specifically above, are NOT expected to be in the building for 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2025, and will start their day with the modified class schedule above - beginning at 11:55 a.m.
