  • Community Pathways Program Graduation at Craig Kielburger SS

    Craig Kielburger SS held its Community Pathways Program (CPP) graduation ceremony to celebrate the incredible achievements of its graduates as they prepare for the next chapter in their lives. Students, families and staff gathered to recognize these students by enjoying treats, taking photos and listening to heartfelt speeches highlighting the lasting impact each student has made on the CKSS community.

  • Co-op in the HDSB - YourTV Halton

    Burlington Central HS student Colin learned about many different aspects of television production during his co-op at YourTV Halton, giving him valuable insight into his future career path. Co-op is a fantastic opportunity for HDSB students to earn secondary school credits while completing a work experience placement in the community. It's available in all HDSB secondary schools and is valuable for all post-secondary destinations including: apprenticeship, college, community, university or work.   • M.M. Robinson High School celebrates an Evening of Black Excellence

    M.M. Robinson High School hosted an Evening of Black Excellence, a powerful celebration of culture, empowerment, leadership and learning.

    The event brought together students, families, educators and community partners for an evening that highlighted the achievements, creativity and contributions of the Black community in Halton and beyond.

  • Schulich Leader Scholarships awarded to HDSB’s Diya Kalia and Heidi Huang

    Two HDSB students have been selected to become 2025 Schulich Leaders. Diya Kalia, Grade 12 student from Garth Webb Secondary School, and Heidi Huang, Grade 12 student from Iroquois Ridge High School, have both received the honour for their outstanding achievements and character.

    The Halton District School Board joins school boards across Ontario in celebrating Education Week from May 5-9, 2025. This week provides an opportunity to showcase the meaningful work taking place across HDSB schools and workspaces, and to recognize the achievements and contributions of students, staff and the broader school community.

  • Halton District School Board announces Jennie Petko as incoming Associate Director of Education

    The Halton District School Board is pleased to announce that HDSB Superintendent of Education Jennie Petko has been selected as the incoming Associate Director of Education. Jennie is the successful candidate of the hiring process that took place throughout April and May, following the announcement of Associate Director of Education Tina Salmini’s retirement.

  • Robert Baldwin Public School celebrates milestone 50th anniversary

    Celebrations will take place on Thursday, May 29, 2025

    Robert Baldwin Public School (180 Wilson Drive, Milton) is celebrating a major milestone – its 50th anniversary – with a special fun fair celebration on Thursday, May 29 from 5 - 7 p.m. The school welcomes former students, staff and community members who have been a part of the Robert Baldwin PS community during the past 50 years to attend the celebration. 

  • Halton District School Board appoints Oakville Trustee (Wards 5 & 7)

    ​At its Special Board meeting on Wednesday, April 30, the Halton District School Board appointed Audrey Wubbenhorst as Trustee for Oakville Wards 5 & 7.

    The appointment process was initiated after Oakville (Wards 5 & 7) Trustee Kelly Amos formally announced her intention to retire in June. In accordance with the Ontario Education Act (221.1) and the HDSB’s Filling a Trustee Vacancy Governance Procedure, the Board opted to fill the vacancy through an appointment process, in which the successful candidate was chosen at a special board meeting open to the public. 

  • HDSB Student Entrepreneur Gives Back to the Community

    ​Meet Taylor Kwan, an Oakville Trafalgar HS student who's using technology to connect artists with buyers while making a difference! Through his online gallery, he facilitates the sale of artwork and donates a portion of the proceeds to charitable causes.
