The Halton District School Board (HDSB) and Halton Region Public Health will host information sessions to raise awareness about the impact of vaping on youth and how parents/guardians can support their children.

Curtis Ennis, Director of Education for the Halton District School Board (HDSB), has been named the recipient of the Community Award as part of the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton’s (CCAH) 2025 4 Pillars Awards.

​The Halton District School Board is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of 108 students at the 41st annual Celebration of Student Excellence, which took place on May 8, 2025. 

Halton District School Board (HDSB) students excelled at the annual Skills Ontario Competition, held on May 5 and 6 at the Toronto Congress Centre.

The Halton District School Board joins school boards across Ontario in celebrating Education Week from May 5-9, 2025. This week provides an opportunity to showcase the meaningful work taking place across HDSB schools and workspaces, and to recognize the achievements and contributions of students, staff and the broader school community.

The Halton District School Board is pleased to announce that HDSB Superintendent of Education Jennie Petko has been selected as the incoming Associate Director of Education. Jennie is the successful candidate of the hiring process that took place throughout April and May, following the announcement of Associate Director of Education Tina Salmini’s retirement.

Students from P.L. Robertson PS teacher Abbe Horowitz's class have decided to take action against plastic pollution and textile waste.

Craig Kielburger SS, Elsie MacGill SS, Nelson HS, T.A. Blakelock HS, White Oaks SS and M.M. Robinson HS took part in the Community Pathways Program Soccer Baseball Tournament, an event that brought students together for a fun-filled day of teamwork and connection. 

Director Ennis visited the Student Senate to discuss the new commitment to Kindness, Connection and Community in the HDSB's 2024-2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan. While there, he challenged the Student Senators to engage in random acts of kindness. ​

Four Grade 11 students from Elsie MacGill SS secured gold in the provincial level of the Skills Ontario Junk Drawer Races Air Pressure Rocket Challenge: Hamdan Khurram, Haroon Shah, Abdul Mutaal Farhan and Hassan Rasheed.
