Our school and the Halton District School Board recognize today as Ontario Day. Ontario’s story is one of growth, change and innovation, shaped by generations of people and communities, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, whose histories and ongoing contributions are foundational to Ontario, as well as generations of newcomers who have helped shape Ontario’s communities, industries and institutions over time.
From the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls to vibrant cities and small towns, Ontario’s people, natural resources, industries, communities and public institutions continue to contribute to Canada’s social, cultural, economic and scientific development, as well as the province’s economic strength and prosperity.
Today, our students are engaging in learning and activities that celebrate Ontario’s history, achievements and future, while building a shared appreciation for the province and the people who call it home.
