Priority #1 Awareness and Access to Mental Health, Addictions and Well-Being Support

This priority focuses on how students and families navigate and receive support.

  • Goal: Improve access to easy-to-understand, transparent information regarding pathways to school-based and community mental health services.
  • Goal: Bolster care responsive to students’ needs and identities.
  • Goal: Strengthen early intervention through evidence-based school and community mental health services.

Priority #2 Belonging and Inclusive Environments

This priority focuses on the daily school climate and embedded wellness practices.

  • Goal: Strengthen school engagement by fostering an environment where every student feels respected, supported and reflected positively in their school community 
  • Goal: Increase the use of trauma-informed approaches to decrease bullying, harassment, discrimination and other forms of student harm.
  • Goal: Enhance the integration of mental health literacy and wellness practices into everyday learning environments. 

Priority #3 Student and Family Engagement 

This priority focuses on collaboration, student voice and the bridge between home and school.

  • Goal: Broaden diverse student representation in the co-creation of mental health initiatives.
  • Goal: Strengthen coordinated networks of care by collaborating with families to provide a bridge between school-based and community-based mental health supports.
  • Goal: Collaborate with parents/guardians and families to build on their mental health knowledge to promote and support student well-being.
