The HDSB Celebrates 20 Years of IB Excellence at White Oaks Secondary School

Sept. 17 2026 - The Halton District School Board (HDSB) is proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville. As the longest-standing IB program in the Halton Region, White Oaks Secondary School has established a two-decade legacy of academic distinction, global citizenship and student success.

Offered in Grades 11 and 12, the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) is an internationally recognized curriculum that challenges students to excel academically and personally. The school also offers an IBDP Prep Program as a preparatory pathway for Grade 9 and 10 students to build strong academic foundations and inquiry skills, helping students thrive in the challenges and opportunities of the Diploma Programme.

Throughout its 20-year history, White Oaks students have consistently achieved top marks globally, with multiple graduates earning perfect scores across all six subject areas, alongside 'A' grades in both the Theory of Knowledge course and the Extended Essay—a rare accomplishment attained by only one to two per cent of IB Diploma recipients worldwide.

To celebrate this milestone and introduce prospective students and families to the opportunities available through the IBDP pathway, the HDSB invites families to attend upcoming information sessions this fall.
