SUBJECT: Northwest Oakville Elementary Boundary Review - UPDATE
Dear parent/guardian,
We are writing to inform you that at the June 2, 2026 Board meeting, Trustees of the Halton District School Board passed a motion to add additional schools as part of the Northwest Oakville Elementary Boundary Review, prior to relaunching the boundary review process.
Trustee motion (as presented in Board Report 26040)
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Trustees direct staff to include Sunningdale PS and Dr. David R. Williams to the affected school and study area of the Northwest Oakville Elementary Boundary Review to address the distribution of elementary French Immersion enrolment, and align elementary school French Immersion Boundaries with the secondary school boundaries resulting from the Oakville NE #1 HS Boundary Review.
What is the goal of this boundary review?
The goal of this review is to address the increasing imbalance in student enrolment among elementary schools south of Dundas Street. It will examine the English and French Immersion elementary programs and identify opportunities to increase enrolment at schools that have available space.
Background
- The Northwest Oakville Elementary Boundary Review was originally initiated in March 2025 with Board Report 25022. The boundary review was put on hold while HDSB staff completed a review of other program offerings that were outside of the boundary review process, which has now reached its conclusion.
- The Oakville NE #1 Secondary School & French Immersion Boundary Review was completed in May 2026. There are opportunities to align elementary and secondary school boundaries between the two reviews in order to provide seamless transition for students.
How does this impact my family?

What are the next steps?
- A Boundary Review Steering Committee (made up of trustees, senior administration and planning staff) will be formed to confirm the consultation process, confirm the schools involved and develop initial options, in accordance with the HDSB’s School Boundary Review Administrative Procedure.
