The Halton District School Board will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Milton elementary school on Friday, November 10. The ceremony will take place at the school site, located in the Boyne community on Leger Way in Milton.
Date: Friday, November 10, 2017
Time: 9 a.m.
Location: Leger Way in Milton, north of Britannia Rd.
On September 20, 2017, the Board of Trustees approved the undertaking of a boundary review for the new Milton SW #10 public school to address the growth occurring in southwest Milton. The boundary review will alleviate current and future enrolment pressure at nearby elementary schools and accommodate new development within the Boyne community. The boundary review is expected to be completed by March 2018.
Construction of the elementary school will begin immediately, with the official opening anticipated for fall 2018. The Halton District School Board has awarded the architectural tender to Hossack & Associates Architects Inc. of Mississauga, and the construction contract to Everstrong Construction Ltd. of Orangeville.
In attendance at the ceremony will be Halton District School Board trustees, senior administrative staff, local government officials, area residents and a number of students who will attend the new school once it opens next year.
