What is a Long Term Accommodation Plan?
A Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) is an annually reviewed planning document produced by the Halton District School Board that provides enrolment projections and guides accommodation planning for a 10-year period. The LTAP also identifies accommodation pressures resulting from these projected enrolments and proposes strategies to address them.
The basis of this plan is to identify new capital project initiatives for the Board over the next four years, in preparation for Capital Priorities funding requests through the Ministry of Education. The Ministry launched the 2021 Capital Priorities program on March 24, 2021, through Memorandum 2021:B05 Request for Capital Priorities Project Funding Submissions. Proposed capital project initiatives identified by Board staff are listed in the Capital Project Initiatives section of the 2020-2021 LTAP.
It also provides an opportunity to identify boundary studies and to address accommodation pressures due to new residential development, changing demographics, and program pressures.

Projection Methodology
The projections in the LTAP are a reflection of enrolment trends to be expected for a review area, school and program based on socioeconomic and demographic factors. Projections provide an indication of the vitality of the school in years to come as well as identify any enrolment issues.
To produce a long range projection, information regarding existing school communities, new growth from development and Junior Kindergarten projections are calculated separately, and then integrated. Census data is provided in the LTAP for reference only and is not used in producing enrolment projections. Further details can be found within the LTAP or in the Projection Methodology PowerPoint presentation.
Municipal Summaries
The Long Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) is divided into four sections based on municipality. These sections contain information on individual elementary and secondary review areas (ERAs and SRAs), such as trends, developmental information, enrolment pressures, historical and projected enrolment, and utilization rates. In addition, feeder school lists, and available Regional Programs and Special Education Programs/Placements are also provided. The sections are provided below based on municipality.
A summary of enrolment and boundary issues in each municipality is provided in the Enrolment and Boundary Issues section of the 2020-2021 LTAP. This shows the utilization in 2020 as well as projected utilization from 2021 to 2025.
