2024 Long Term Accommodation Plan Update
The Halton District School Board’s Facility Services and Planning Departments are working towards transitioning the Long-Term Accommodation Plan (LTAP) to a virtual and interactive document that community members can easily navigate to better understand future enrolment projections, school facility information, key performance indicator, and future projects in their communities over a 15-year time period. The final online and physical formats of the LTAP are expected to be complete by Fall 2025.
While the online version of the LTAP is being developed, the HDSB is sharing the proposed priority projects and initiatives with the Halton community for feedback. This input will help shape the final version of the online LTAP.
2024 LTAP Public Feedback
The HDSB will be inviting community members to share feedback on the proposed priority projects included in the 2024 LTAP Update through a feedback survey starting September 22, 2025 to October 3, 2025.
The collected feedback will be shared and presented to Halton District School Board Trustees to inform decision making in approving the 2024 LTAP. Please note that all recommended projects will require future approvals from either the Board of Trustees and/or Senior Staff, depending on the type of project. Additional reports will be shared as these next steps move forward. See below for milestones and next steps.
Navigating the Proposed Priority Projects
Halton is divided into geographic areas, referred to as Elementary and Secondary Review Areas (ERA and SRA). Each of these areas has a set of priority projects that may include but are not limited to new school projects, boundary reviews, enrolment redirections, future space reduction initiatives and program and accommodation reviews. These projects are presented in a short (2 years), medium (3-5 years) and long-term (5+ years) format. The goal is to provide an overview of planned actions anticipated in our school communities so HDSB community members and stakeholders are aware of what to expect in the future, when it is planned, why it is happening and the benefits.
To determine which ERA and SRA your address falls within, please use the
Find My Review Area tool, and complete the feedback survey to provide your input on the future priority projects anticipated in your community. Simply click the search box and type in an address (or choose “use current location” if you’re at home) to find the Elementary and Secondary Review Area in which you are located and the projects.
