Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO)
Highlights of the results from the 2018/2019 Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) were shared with Trustees at the October 2, 2019 Board meeting. The data was also presented as Infographics for
Grade 3/6,
Grade 9 Math and Grade 10 Literacy and posted on the Board website and social media platforms to assist stakeholders in understanding these results and to highlight the work of students and staff and plans for continued support of professional learning.

Highlights of the EQAO data include:
- Grade 3 and 6 Reading, Writing and Math results continue to perform above the provincial average.
- Grade 9 Math results increased by 1% for students in Applied Math. Both Academic and Applied results are above the provincial average.
- Grade 10 Literacy Test (OSSLT) increased by 1% for students writing the test for the first time (from 85% to 86%). All OSSLT results for HDSB students continue to be above the provincial average.
- Grade 6 Writing results increased by one percentage point from 87% to 88%
