May 19, 2016

This morning under sunny skies, Oodenawi Public School (385 Sixteen Mile Dr., Oakville) hosted an official opening celebration with students, staff, community members, officials and dignitaries.

A highlight of the ceremony included attendees being welcomed by an elder from the Mississaugas of the First Credit, followed by a traditional First Nations song called Little Boy Drum. There was a tour of the school and refreshments in the library.

This was the second school this month celebrating its first year of operation.

On May 6, Boyne Public School (1110 Farmstead Dr., Milton) made use of Education Week, to highlight the school’s official opening. Boyne celebrated with dignitaries, Board personnel, staff and students during a ceremony at which time the school unveiled a time capsule, filled with various items, to be opened in 10 years.
