Welcome to the Director's Annual Report 2018-2019

The Director’s Annual Report is an interactive online report that highlights the success of our students, staff and school communities.  It also provides links to student achievement data, operational expenditures, and system-wide survey data and measures concerning the Board’s diversity and growth.

Highlights in 2018-2019 Report Include:

  • HDSB continues to perform above the provincial average in Grade 3 & 6 Reading, Writing and Math assessments.
  • Numerous national and provincial awards for students, staff and schools in recognition of achievement and leadership.
  • Continued alignment of results and achievements in 2018-2019 with the Board’s Multi-Year Plan 2016-2020.
  • Data gathered from engagement tools like Have Your Say and Respectful Workplace surveys, and improved communication through technology, social media platforms and the HDSB mobile app.

A Message from the Director

The Halton District School Board’s Multi-Year Plan (MYP) for 2016-2020 guides our collective actions and decision making as an organization to ensure we are always focused on providing a high standard of education for students. It sets the direction to ensure the Board’s efforts support all students, staff, and families across the HDSB.

The MYP provides goals and targets to guide us toward our vision that “every student will explore and enhance their potential, passions and strengths to thrive as contributing global citizens”.

Our actions are guided by our values of accountability, creativity, collaboration, equity, empathy and integrity. With these values at the core of everything we do, we’ve identified three themes to guide us forward:

  • Engagement & Achievement
  • Equity & Well-being
  • Stewardship & Resources

The Annual Report is developed to showcase the Board’s progress toward achieving our goals and what actions we’re taking when our goals are not being met. The stories and accomplishments highlighted in this report prove how we put our goals into action.

We invite you to join us in celebrating the successes of the students and staff of the Halton District School Board and share in our pride for public education.

Staff, families, volunteers, and the entire Halton community share a commitment to working together to ensure the best for students. We believe that together, we can inspire every student to learn, grow and succeed, and together, we can make a profound and lasting impact on the future of our students.
